Lil as X’s debut project 7 is expected to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The project is reportedly projected to do 70,000 units within its first week, tying it with Billie Eilish’s album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
Powered by the strength of his viral hit “Old Town Road”, 7 features collaborators like Billie Ray Cyrus, who appears on the song’s official remix, Cardi B and Travis Barker as well as production from Dot Da Genius, Ryan Tedder and Boi-1da.
Unsurprisingly, the bulk of his sales will likely be attributed to streaming, with only between 4,000 – 7.000 units likely to reflect pure sales.
CHICAGO – For anyone who ever doubted Mick Jagger was superhuman, the Rolling Stones’ Soldier Field show Friday would make you a believer.
The 75-year-old rocker was in fantastic form, prancing and skipping and sprinting and strutting through a two-hour show, the kickoff for the North American leg of the Stones’ “No Filter” tour.
Given his age, it was an impressive feat. Given his recent health issues, it was nothing short of astounding.
The Stones postponed the start of their tour back in April after Jagger required medical treatment and time to recuperate. The band didn’t disclose the issue, but Rolling Stone and Billboard reported that he underwent heart valve replacement surgery.
Jagger made no mention of his health Friday. Combined with his energetic performance, it was like nothing ever happened.
For the opening 15 minutes, Jagger just couldn’t keep still, frantically pacing and running across the massive, football field-spanning runways for “Street Fighting Man,” “Let’s Spend The Night Together” and “Tumbling Dice,” frequently flailing his arms, shaking his hands, wiggling his hips and kicking his leg along the way.
Even when an electric guitar and stationary mic threatened to anchor him down, for a rare performance of “Sad Sad Sad,” Jagger playfully slammed into guitarist Ronnie Wood with his right shoulder.
Moves like Jagger’s quickly squashed any worries that he, finally, would rein in the energy at Stones shows. But beyond proving he was still capable of handling the job, he was clearly having a blast.
After an acoustic set on the end of the catwalk with just the core four – Jagger, Wood, guitarist Keith Richards and drummer Charlie Watts – the lights went out on the stage and the music for “Sympathy for the Devil” started up. As Richards, Watts and Wood casually strolled to the main stage, you could see Jagger in the darkness running like a giddy kid.
There was a lone moment Friday when Jagger was caught on the big screens taking an exasperated breath, in the middle of a blustery blues harp solo for “Midnight Rambler.” But it wasn’t fear or exhaustion that flashed across his face; it was sheer excitement.
Jagger finished his solo with gusto, and Wood spun down the catwalk while laying down dizzying blues riffs, the song falling back into a simmer over Wood and Richards’ smoldering guitar notes, until Watts’ light, tight drumming and Jagger’s audience-baiting call and response fanned the flames for the 12-minute blues opus’ fiery climax.
Across 20 songs, Jagger was absent for two of them, for a combined eight minutes. The breather gave Richards an opportunity to take center stage – he relinquished most of the flashy guitar work to Wood Friday – when he lent gravitas and gratitude to “You Got the Silver” and “Before They Make Me Run.”
Other members of the Stones’ touring band had moments to shine, from Chuck Leavell’s rollicking roadhouse keys for “Honky Tonk Woman,” to Sasha Allen’s hurricane vocals for “Gimme Shelter,” which still came through despite a muddy mix. And bassist Darryl Jones’ funky solo on “Miss You” seemingly sent Jagger into spontaneous, dancing spasms, the frontman contrasting Jones’ deep notes with some frisky falsetto cries.
Even Jagger’s spellbinding star power couldn’t help seizing attention during Jones’ big moment in the bassist’s hometown.
Nick Jonas has finally joined his brother Joe and Sophie Turner in Paris ahead of their second wedding. But the group also had another unexpected member with them: Wilmer Valderrama.
Paris, the City of Love and… ex-lovers? Joe Jonas has been out and about in the French capital this week with Sophie Turner ahead of their second, more formal wedding, and it looks like they were just joined by a very interesting acquaintance. While leaving a building together – along with Joe’s brother Nick Jonas who recently touched down in Paris with wife Priyanka Chopra – fans spotted Wilmer Valderrama trailing not far behind. As in, the Wilmer Valderrama who dated Joe’s ex Demi Lovato for six years. (Demi, however, was nowhere in sight.)
Joe, Sophie and Wilmer were also spotted out in the city together with two other friends. For the casual outing, the Game of Thrones star looked gorgeous in a plaid blazer over a white t-shirt and denim shorts. Her husband rocked a striped tee under a yellow jacket, along with black pants and sneakers. Wilmer looked cool in a classic black t-shirt, dark jeans, sunglasses and brown shoes.
Even though Sophie and Joe already tied the knot in Las Vegas earlier this year, the pair are still going through with their more formal French wedding, rumored to take place next weekend. They were spotted out with Sophie’s mom earlier in the week and Nick and Priyanka joined them on June 23.
While it’s unclear how Demi feels about her two exes hanging out together, we do know she approves of the state of Joe’s love life. After the Jonas Brothers member shared a sweet pic of him and Sophie almost kissing on June 22, Demi hit the “like” button on the Instagram post. So sweet! While they dated briefly in 2010, they’ve stayed close friends. The “Sorry Not Sorry” hitmaker is also best buds with Joe’s brother Nick.
Zendaya has never been one to shy away from her critics, and that now includes none other than Lindsay Lohan. While Zendaya appeared on the Met Gala red carpet in a light-up Cinderella gown by Tommy Hilfiger back in May, Lohan made her thoughts known on Instagram, commenting: “Claire Danes did that with Zac Posen already,” referencing the actress’s own illuminated gown from 2016. She then tagged Danes in another comment writing, “You wore this dress so beautifully, I don’t know why someone thinks that they can be more chic. Ever.”
During an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Zendaya responded to Lohan’s comments without acknowledging her by name.
“I didn’t feel hurt by it and it didn’t make me sad because I have no idea what that person is going through,” she said. “Maybe in some strange way, that comment made them feel better that day. People are only negative because negativity is eating away at them.”
This isn’t the first time Zendaya has publicly responded to comments made about her. During the 2015 Oscars, Zendaya walked the red carpet in a white Vivienne Westwood gown with her hair in dreadlocks, prompting then-host of Fashion Police, Giuliana Rancic to say that the look made her “feel like she smells like patchouli . . . Or weed.”
The comments sparked controversy on Twitter and Zendaya eventually responded with a letter that she posted on social media.
“There is already harsh criticism of African-American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair,” she wrote. “My wearing my hair in locs on an Oscar red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough.”
Rancic ended up apologizing for her comments shortly after. So far, Lohan has had no such response.
Are Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner gearing up for a second wedding celebration? Fans think signs from their social media accounts point to yes.
After Jonas was photographed attending a Paris Fashion Week show on Friday, the couple posted matching shots of them about to kiss in front of the Eiffel Tower. That, paired with an Instagram comment from Dr. Phil, has fans wondering if the Jonas Brothers singer and “Game of Thrones” alum are about to tie the knot for a second time.
“Easy now! 1 week to go! Ha! See you at the wedding,” the longtime TV personality wrote on Turner’s post.
Roc Nation music executive Hank Fortener also commented, “See you soon.”
Hayley Stubbs, a representative for Turner, declined comment on clients’ “personal lives.” USA TODAY has also reached out to Jonas’ publicist.
Janet Jackson has broken her silence amid new allegations against her brother, Michael Jackson, in “Leaving Neverland” — and her message is simple … his rep will be just fine.
Michael’s younger sister spoke with The Sunday Times, and addressed what she thought would happen to the King of Pop’s legacy going forward … saying, “It will continue.” Janet went on to say that she still sees Michael’s influence in the world today … a reassuring sign.
Janet says, “I love it when I see kids emulating him, when adults still listen to his music. It just lets you know the impact that my family has had on the world.” She added, “I hope I’m not sounding arrogant in any way — I’m just stating what it is. It’s really all God’s doing, and I’m just thankful for that.”
In the interview, Janet did not speak on Wade Robson and James Safechuck‘s specific allegations head-on … but it’s pretty clear where she stands on the issue. According to Billboard, Janet has been playing Michael’s tunes during her concerts without hesitation.
She’s also defended him in the past, specifically when Jordy Chandler accused Michael of sexual abuse in ’93. At the time, Janet called it a money grab.
Other members of Michael’s family have gone to bat for him in the wake of “Leaving Neverland,” calling Wade and James’ claims full-blown lies. His estate is even taking HBO to court for airing the explosive documentary … saying the network violated a decades-old contract they signed with him back in the day, in which it agreed not to disparage MJ.
Janet’s latest comments come just days ahead of will be Michael’s 10-year death anniversary. TMZ broke the story … MJ died on June 25, 2009. He was 50 years old.
Khloé replied to a fan on Instagram who comment on a picture of her and her BFF, Malika Haqq, saying that Khloé and Malika’s friendship is the only one fans can trust. Khloé’s reply was simply, “Same,” which many think is intended as shade at Jordyn, who was a longtime friend of the famous family before becoming involved with Tristan.
On Sunday morning, the comedian, 38, shared an adorable new photo of her 7-week-old son, showing him dressed in a tiny striped shirt and cuddling against her chest. Schumer and husband Chris Fischerwelcomed Gene, their first child, in early May.
Earlier this month, the actress shared two photos of herself spending time with Gene while wearing her stretchy white “hospital underwear.” Poking fun at her glamorous choice of post-pregnancy attire, she captioned the snaps, “5 weeks. Hospital underwear for life!”
Days later, the mother of one — who has been on the receiving end of many mom-shaming comments since welcoming her son — joked that she was “sorry” for the photos in a pair of snapshots in which she showed off her cesarean-section scar.
“I’m really sorry if I offended anyone with my hospital underwear. Except I’m just kidding. #csection#balmain,” she captioned the post.
“Oh ok so I can’t watch handmaids anymore. #filledwithregret,” Schumer captioned an Instagram post that showed her son wearing a lion-print outfit and snuggling up to her chest, seemingly sound asleep.
Cardi B is staying positive amid news of her indictment.
One day after news broke that she had been indicted by a Queens grand jury over a strip club brawl she was allegedly involved in last August, the rapper took the stage at the 2019 BET Experience in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Cardi, 26, rocked a skin-tight, glittering purple bodysuit and fishnets for her performance, completing the look with a blue wig.
Later on Saturday night, the proud mom shared a sweet Instagram Story video of herself cuddling and kissing her 11-month-old daughter Kulture Kiari.
Cardi has yet to comment on the indictment on her social media, but on Friday, hours after the news broke, the rapper shared a sultry photo of herself dressed up in Fenty lingerie for her upcoming film Hustlers.
The “Press” star was initially only charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault and reckless endangerment, but — after rejecting a plea deal in April — will now face 14 charges, two of which are counts of felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, a Queens district court spokeswoman confirmed to PEOPLE.
Other charges will include criminal solicitation, conspiracy and harassment for her part in the brawl.
The indictment will not be unsealed until her arraignment in a Queens courtroom, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, ABC News reports.
Cardi’s attorney Jeff Kern did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment, though he previously told reporters he was “aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm on that night. We expect that the matter is going to be resolved expeditiously.”
Joe Tacopina, an attorney for the alleged victims, begged to differ.
“Cardi B ordered and committed violent assaults against my clients, and is being called to justice for her crimes,” he told PEOPLE in a statement last fall. “Apparently, she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law, since she has bragged to multiple people and on social media that she orchestrated these vicious attacks.”
